Drawing from her experiences of growing up in India innertwined
with the cultural heritage that her Persian ethnicity provides,
Zenaida has developed her unique approach towards Belly
Dancing. Since early childhood she has had an insatiable
love for using her body, mind, and spirit through dance.
It was this love of dancing that later led to formal training
in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Salsa and Latin Ballroom Dancing.
That love also led her back to her original ethnic roots
expressed through her primary passion - Middle
Eastern Belly Dance.
Creating and performing in artistic shows that explore
the art of Middle Eastern Dance beyond the traditional
are specifically enjoyable for Zenaida. You will find her
in those settings enjoying a mixture of Traditional
Egyptian, Fusion, and American Cabaret styles of Belly
Dance. Her latin dance background subtly reveals itself
as she melds the exotic Samba and playful Cha Cha
dances into traditional Oriental Dancing to create
a signature style that is uniquely her own.
Learning should never cease, Zenaida believes,
and is an essential part of being an artist and
therefore any true artist is constantly in the pursuit
of new knowledge and new challenges. It is that belief
that drives her to continue expanding and improving her
dancing through workshops, seminars, and the
implementation of self-study techniques. Her
appetite for Belly Dance has led her to being
among the new generation of Oriental Dancers in San Diego.

Zenaida has a deep respect and understanding of Middle Eastern culture and dance, and enjoys sharing her
passion for dancing with her audience. While she dances she completely surrenders herself to the moment
and she is one with the music. When asked why she loves Belly Dancing, she responds - "For me, Belly Dancing
is one of the most honest and sincere forms of expression. It's only when dancing that I feel the purest and
strongest connection between my physical and spiritual being."
